Worthy has heart issues. Not the kind of issues that need medical attention, but the kind that need Jesus. She's little - those hard toddler years, but I can see that her heart is hard. She wants things to go her own way and will give you "nasty girl" attitude when they don't. So, I hug her until nasty girl goes away and Worthy comes back. I want her to understand her heart.
God made a law for the Israelites in the desert not so that God would have all these little Israelite slaves to do His bidding, but in order that they would see their heart. You see the Law of God had a little to do with obedience and much more to show us our inability to fulfill the Law. God wanted through the Law to show us our need for a Saviour. And that Saviour fulfilled ALL of the Law so that he could give the ultimate sacrifice to make us right with God.
So, I want Worthy to see that her heart is not always right with me, her mommy, so that she can see that her heart is not always right with God, the one who loves her soul. If I was always trying to placate her and do everything to make her happy, she would not understand her heart. She would not understand that happiness comes from the inside and not from external influences. She would not understand her need for a Saviour to save her from the things that make her nasty girl. In the meantime, nasty girl is getting hugged out so that Worthy , that sweet little ball of energy can shine.
