One thing that bugs me is the amount of paperwork Praise requires to show that he is disabled. You want to reduce some money the state pushes out for medical care? This is my plan. Instead of me sending the state reams of paper from various sources so that teams of medical professionals can evaluate it, just give me 1 minute to introduce them to Praise and they can mark "yes, he is disabled". Or better yet, look at the evaluation done by a PUBLIC HEALTH NURSE that comes out to my house once a year to do the SAME paperwork. I know there is a lot of fraud in the system and people abuse it, but there's got to be a "just show us your face" exemption. It would take them a very short time to figure out he's disabled, but in order to lessen fraud and test everyone the same, the obviously disabled children have to go through the same number of insane hoops. So, all you state people, save money with the "show me your face" exemption for obviously disabled children. So, I'm off to copy copy copy and collect all this assorted paperwork from a team of doctors scattered throughout the twin cities. It will take me a few weeks. AARG!
Oh and if the above is not enough, every 4 years or so, there's another team assembled to see if Praise qualifies for Special Education services. They spend hundreds of dollars to get him a label where once again, the "just show us your face" plan would save them all the hassle.
